The Journal of Professional Secretaries and Office Administrators was first published in 1993. It has no doubt gone a long way. The current volume is the twenty third, and it is the outcome of the twenty fifth Annual National Conference and Workshop of the Association of Professional Secretarial Staff of Nigeria (APSSON) whose theme was: Secretarial Profession and the Dynamic Nigerian Labour Market. Both the labour market and professional secretaryship are experiencing unprecedented metamorphosis in Nigeria nay the world. The commissioned paper by Dr. Anthony A. Ozurumba is very thought-provoking and is a clarion call to all members of the labour force including professional secretaries to improve their performance and thereby increase productivity. The proficiency of the contemporary secretaries in the dynamic Nigerian labour market is predicated upon a good number of variables as enunciated by various contributors and these include: secretarial intrapreneurship, ICT-compliance, scholastic advancement, gender equality, further training and retraining, self-development, and stress management. These factors are suggestive of requisite strategies for effective and efficient secretarial services towards the enhancement of labour market operations This volume presents interesting reference, training and teaching materials to business and office educators, secretarial practitioners, administrators /managers of various organizations, researchers, and the general readers.
